FAQ

Let us help you navigate and understand your next steps in business and life.

We specialize in helping small and medium-sized businesses right-size their planning and growth goals. So, whether your revenues are $1 million, $10 million or $50 million, we can help you think through those next important steps.

Transforming your business can be hard.  Whether it’s figuring out how to grow, sell, or perhaps just build a long-term plan for success, we can help.  We are experienced professionals who have helped guide businesses of all sizes through important strategic processes.  And, if you are deciding to buy a business or sell a business, we can help guide you specifically through all the complicated steps required.

We take confidentiality seriously.   We treat all proprietary and confidential information with the utmost discretion.  Rest easy that you can share your plans safely with us, so that we may help you meet your goals.

The earlier the better!  If you are just starting out on your journey, or if you have already identified a company you would like to partner with – reach out to us today.  We can help you understand how the process typically works, and what important steps you need to think through.

Just like the buying process – the earlier you reach out to us, the more we can assist you with the overwhelming nature of the process.  Selling your business can feel like a marathon: let us help you prepare for the long journey ahead. Even if you believe you are a year or two away from “pulling the trigger” – meet with us today and we can help you identify important factors to consider.

We pride ourselves on “straight talk”.  You can expect straightforward communication and clarity through the process of working with us.  We will be clear on requirements and deliverables at all times – and we will always make ourselves available to answer any questions you might have.

Performing due diligence specific to an acquisition simply means you are taking appropriate steps to investigate a company and understand the risks associated with the investment you are about to make.  The typical analogy used is a “house inspection”.  If you were purchasing a house, you would want an inspector to outline the risks of the property, and where you might have to invest additional funds or add some special guarantees from the home’s former owners.  It is the same concept with businesses.  Due diligence will help you deeply understand the financial state of the company and identify risks and considerations you should understand in making the purchase decision.

We are happy to meet with you in whatever form makes the most sense to you. Sometimes when you are planning sensitive matters (selling your business or major strategic changes), you may not want meetings held in your offices.  We are happy to meet with you remotely via video call, in our offices in downtown Calgary, or at a neutral site of your choosing.
